My time as a Start-Thinking intern went by so quickly. I learned so much while there and the network contacts I made were and are so beneficial to me. I can honestly say my time at Start-Thinking was the best investment I have made in my professional career.

Thanks for the shout-out, and you also inspire us! LOVE Intern Learn! It is really no surprised that the word learn is also part of the name or our intern program. After all, isn't that what an internship is supposed to be about? Even our other intern focus areas T (team) and C (career) are about learning.

Kris, you are an amazing mentor, teacher and coach. What a tremendous opportunity you are giving your interns by allowing them to be part of the Start-Thinking team! I'm sure it will give them the START they need to get ahead in their careers, and will leave them THINKING about ways to get to work with you again!

Yes I think you're right about passion being the main engine that drives most small business owners and bloggers. And when people are talking about burnout it's usually best described as a loss of passion. For when we lose that passion that drives us to be inspired and enlivened by a burning desire to share our business or idea with others we doom that business, idea, or activity to failure. For it is passion that fuels and feeds the fires of success.

So remember to keep passion in mind and don't let it die out.

Excellent post Kris. I just started implementing rules for my email. Daily updates, email newsletters/blogs, etc. now go straight to their designated folder for checking a couple times a day. And I am more diligent about unsubscribing to things that have no value to me any more.

About once a quarter, I review the sent folder and delete or move to the archives. Problem with this is I have emails dating back to 2003.

I use email as an online filing system, so I won't ever be able to completely get rid of certain things.

My dad used to disappear sometimes around bed time. I later found out it was for a bowl of rocky road.

What I like about the food logs, though is that it's not a diet. Its a reminder for you to take matters into your own hands. Its also telling me that I'm kind of stuck on the 3-squares idea which I don't think is best for the bod.

Because of its ubiquity and not having the requirement of participants being on-line on demand, email will continue to be the workhorse of communications for quite some time. Google Wave, Basecamp, and a host of other services are great tools that, in practice, still really need email to help them. These products serve a different purpose, however, of providing a shared collection of information related to a project or subject. Wave's whiteboarding tool is an outstanding example of one part of collaboration. Now if I could Wave from my iPad while in a video conference and audio conference all with one tool without spending...
